Vintage 2013
Wine Type Red
Varietal Cabernet Sauvignon
Region Atlas Peak
Winemaker Jeffrey Stambor

Made with full extraction and long skin contact, this wine is made to maximize body and weight while having long silky tannins. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a beautiful depth of deep red - purple color. The nose shows aromas of black cherry fruit with a touch of sweet vanilla and a hint of mint. In the mouth, the wine offers rich flavors of blueberry and blackberry on the palate and echoes the vanilla bean note brought forth by the French oak. Tannins are soft and supple with a rich round mouth-filling finish.

Vinous - 90 Points

“Mountain tannins and bracing acidity provide the backdrop in the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Atlas Peak Maestro Collection. Vivid and intense in the glass, the 2013 possesses notable energy that plays off the intense, dark fruit of the vintage. Super-ripe red cherry, truffle, blood orange, pomegranate and mint are some of the notes that give the 2013 its racy personality the late harvest is felt in the wine’s intense, exotic ripeness.” — Antonio Galloni, Vinous March 2016

Vintage Note

With near-ideal conditions throughout the growing season, 2013 was a generous vintage for both vintners and growers. It began with a warm and dry spring, followed by moderate temperatures through summer. Harvest was remarkably smooth without any major frost events or heat spikes. Across the board, the fruit showed optimal flavor development with great balance, good color and nice tannin structure. The resulting wines exhibit depth, complexity and balance.
