Vintage 2015
Wine Type White
Varietal Gewurztraminer
Region Sonoma County
Winemaker Margo Van Staaveren

This highly perfumed wine opens with fragrant floral aromas of honeysuckle and white flowers. The inviting notes leads to a flavorful palate with bright fresh stone fruit and subtle spice lingering on the palate.

The wine offers a pleasing sweetness with a nice amount of acidity that gives structure and supports the body to a smooth, well-rounded finish. This wine pairs very well with spicy foods.

Winemaker Note:

Chateau St. Jean Gewurztraminer is made in an off-dry style. After a brief soaking on the skins, the juice was fermented at very low temperatures in small batches for just over one month in temperature-controlled stainless steel vessels.

This retains natural acidity and fragrant varietal character. We stop the fermentation a little early so that the wine offers balance between beautiful aromatics and body.
