Vintage 2013
Wine Type Red
Varietal Syrah
Region Sonoma Valley
Winemaker Margo Van Staaveren

Vineyard Note

This single-vineyard Syrah is a deep, garnet color in the glass with inviting aromas of fresh raspberry, black cherry, mocha and subtle roasted espresso notes. The wine is rich and generous on the palate with forward red fruit flavors and black pepper spice. This full bodied wine has an opulent texture with polished tannins and well-balanced acidity.

Winemaker's Note

After primary fermentation, the free run was drained from the skins and sent to barrel to complete malolactic fermentation. This enables us to retain all of the fruit character from the vineyard and develop richness and integration with the oak components. The wine was aged 24 months in 100% French oak (35% new) and spent an additional six months in the bottle before release.
