A tantalizing tribute to the Carneros region, known for producing intensely flavored Pinot Noir. A silky palate is accompanied by flavors of black cherry, plum, and baking spices with an elegant finish. This limited release wine was crafted exclusively for our wine club members and guests of our winery in Calistoga.

Tasting Notes

Displaying classic cues from this acclaimed growing region, our Carneros Pinot Noir opens with ripe cherry, plum and red currant aromas dusted by spicy hints of nutmeg and oak. The palate is long and silky with a depth of black fruit flavors, pierced by bright rays of red stone-fruit and structured with toasted barrel notes. Firm tannins hold the fruit and oak in balance through the long finish. An excellent match with roasted turkey, duck cassoulet, or fall vegetables.


To capture the fine nuances and expressive character of our Pinot Noir, we began by hand-harvesting the fruit in the cool hours of the day. The fruit was brought to our reserve winery where it was sorted and separated into one-ton bins and tank fermentors. A three-day cold soak gently extracted delicate aromas and flavors. Gentle punch downs and pump-overs during fermentation developed a broad, fleshy midpalate, adding breadth and texture. We then aged the wine for nine months in French oak barrels, to impart fragrant baking spices and warm vanilla tones.
